Built for a politically connected family, the house segregates the public meeting areas from the private home. With two stairways, one for staff and one for residents, it features a first-floor residence bathed in natural light. Outdoor terraces invite gatherings, seamlessly blending functionality with practicality. The ground floor boasts an east-facing entrance porch, north-facing garage, and a southern section with a bedroom, internal staircase, and office. The second floor is entirely private, with bedrooms and a terrace for family gatherings, emphasizing careful window placement for diffused light.
A wide front porch facing towards east makes up the entrance porch of the house which is half of the eastern facade of the ground floor.
The garage facing North is right behind the entrance porch and makes up the northern facade of the ground floor. A seating equally elongated as the garage is tucked between the entrance porch and the garage placed at right angles with each other. The southern part of the ground floor comprises of a bedroom an internal staircase and an office. Washrooms and store room are kept at the rear. An external staircase, with direct access to the entrance pole is integrated in the design as a service entry.
The internal staircase (north-south oriented) becomes the axis of division of semi-private and private spaces. The eastern side makes up the kitchen, a circulation lobby and a double heighted living room with windows on the northern and eastern façade. The western part of the house are two bedrooms with washrooms.
The second floor is entirely the private area with two bedrooms on the western part of the house. The rest almost entirely makes up the large terrace for family gatherings etc.
The windows have been carefully placed such that it looks like a composition of windows of different sizes that perfectly go in with the voids created as terraces on elevations. The elevations come together as an amalgamation of hollowed out spaces that allow diffused light into the house.
