    This proposal envisions an expansive school for Elementary, Junior, Secondary, and Higher Secondary classes, considering the imminent growth of residences and institutions. The deliberate segregation of the junior and senior school occurs at the ground floor for efficient movement. An imposing entrance porch, anchored by a massive Library block, acts as an overhang, imparting a distinctive character to the façade and creating sheltered areas for students to assemble even during the monsoon season. Following an introverted design philosophy, classrooms surround a covered assembly courtyard, connected by a sweeping stairway leading to a mini auditorium. The structure features a predominantly neutral colour palette, accented by a vibrant hue on the exterior for visual interest. Mindful of vehicular movement, designated areas for buses and private vehicles ensure a seamless flow. The design continues with classrooms encircling three sides of an amphitheater, opening up to a playground. This inclusive design accommodates unrestricted movement with large covered areas that can be fully functional, even during monsoon months.

Tucked discreetly, the puja alcove conceals itself from the public spaces, adding an element of privacy and tranquility. Situated on the ground floor, this apartment contends with limited natural light. However, a thoughtfully chosen neutral colour and material palette have been employed to infuse warmth and homeliness into the space.

Beyond its primary medical role, it doubles as an in-house Training Institute for Para Medical Technicians and Emergency Support Personnel. The design emphasizes well-lit staircase blocks and lobbies, utilizing extensive glazing to create a bright and cheerful atmosphere in common areas. Additionally, the structure employs lattice coverings to cover essential service areas which envelope the min operation theatres. A proposed solar power generation facility and a six-storey cascade garden around the stairwell further highlight the project’s commitment to innovation and sustainability.

The inclusion of trellises serves both functional and aesthetic purposes, mitigating the sun’s glare while adding a touch of design finesse.

    On a compact corner plot, surrounded by roads on two sides, our cost-effective home and studio embrace a varied mix of materials such as bamboo slats, matting, steel, and wood—creating simple trellises and textured soffits. Prioritising functionality, cost-effectiveness, and ease of maintenance, the design incorporates technology where required, for secure locking systems, solar energy, automated watering, and lighting. Rough sponge finish sand-faced plaster, both inside and out, contributes to its unique appeal. Overlooking a lush green space, habitable areas enjoy tranquil views. The living room, though modest, exudes volume through double height and expansive glazing. An extended ribbon window along the roof ridge enhances natural light. Strategically placed potted plants blend interior and exterior boundaries. On the third level, an open-plan loft offers captivating views of treetops, the neighborhood, and the river, enhancing the dwelling’s connection with its environment.
    Being within the municipal limits and yet surrounded by nature, we were blessed to have found a plot that has an acre of open forest area as part of the colony’s common land. The site overlooks the conservation zone of Ribandar village, ensuring unobstructed views of the Mandovi river and the Salim Ali Bird sanctuary beyond.

Nestled away from the street’s hustle, the hotel’s pool ensures a private retreat for guests. The exterior boasts a warm and textured palette, setting the tone for the hotel’s distinctive character. Inside, the rooms showcase a blend of warm rich wood finishes, neutral wall colors, and soft, subtle lighting. The place has turned out to be the most sought-after location at Anjuna.

Each cottage entrance features a small porch and accommodates two private ensuite rooms. The semi-covered spacious dining area also provides a view of the green space and pool.
    The landscaping around the periphery mostly consists of lots of fruit bearing trees and arecanut groves.

    An existing house in a residential enclave was renovated into a boutique for garments and fabrics. Exterior enhancements introduced a rich palette of neutral tones, altering the texture and vibrancy of the façade. The entrance porch comes to life with the addition of a large handmade ‘joomar’ made with woven basket, bamboo, and bells, creating an inviting ambiance for customers. The interior ambiance exudes rustic charm, featuring textured walls and a light, neutral wall colour. In harmony with the boutique’s purpose, a diverse material palette of warm wood, rope, and fabric, coupled with patterned strip embellishments along the wall edges, imparts a cosy and ethnic aesthetic to the space.

The sloping terrain is ingeniously utilized, creating rows of residences at different levels, providing both motorable and pedestrian access, fostering privacy and interconnectedness. Every residence features a private pool and a small green sanctuary enclave, complementing essential amenities. It is crowned with a distinctive large, single sloping roof inspired by Goan aesthetics designed to accommodate heavy rain. The design revolves around a communal focal point—a vast orchard turned tranquil water body—enriching the landscape with nature-friendly elements. A long winding walking track conjoins many landscaped pockets all along the centre, effectively using designated no-development areas of the property.

The project also involved creating onsite and offsite parking facilities catering to trailer and container trucks, ensuring seamless operations within the expansive facility.

    Thirteen apartment units are artfully arranged in a linear stacked design, forming a series of two and a half building blocks that gracefully cascade down a gentle slope. The road abutting areas are reserved for commercial use. A substantial geometric frame wraps around the commercial space, augmenting the overall volume at the property’s entrance. Similar geometric shapes are echoed in the roof design. Apartments, staircase, and parking seamlessly intertwine, skillfully adapting to the sloping terrain. Using a mix of colours, horizontal and vertical overlaps come together to form a visually engaging structure.

    Situated on a compact plot in an industrial zone, the design of this structure prioritized efficiency in space utilization. It takes the form of a four-story box with a prominent rectangular staircase block on one side. To elevate its visual appeal, vibrant colors grace the window bands, and dynamic horizontal slats at the roof eaves level were introduced, adding a touch of modern flair to the overall design.

    Built for a politically connected family, the cuboid house segregates public meeting areas from the private home. With two stairways, one for staff and one for residents it a residence bathed in natural light . The first floor encompasses semi-private and private spaces with a kitchen, dining area, sky-lit puja room, and two bedrooms. The entirely private second floor includes two bedrooms and expansive semi-covered terraces for gatherings.
    The internal staircase (north-south oriented) forms the axis of division of semi-private and private spaces.

    In an urban-village setting on a gently sloping property, this girls’ orphanage embraces a design that harmonizes with the surroundings. On a sloping property with fields, the aim was to evoke a homely feel rather than an institutional one. The terrain was used ingeniously, by having the main access on the first floor. A generously sized sloping roof, blending with the surroundings, addressed the challenges posed by the monsoons. The entrance features a simple partially covered front porch with a traditional Goan Balcao, offering a cosy home feel. Inside, a well-lit courtyard maximizes light and ventilation. Pseudo balconies with windows not only enhance the residential aesthetic but also serve functional purposes, discreetly concealing certain services. This design blends comfort, culture, and practicality for a space transcending institutional norm-creating a comforting and approachable environment.

    Embarking on our maiden design venture, this family residence on a street corner, is located along the banks of the Mandovi river. The entrance features a tulsivrindavan, and a simple porch with seating that captures the charm of Goan balcaos. The sturdy load-bearing structure boasts brick and masonry arches with Cuddappa stone lintels. Inside, the compact lobby integrates living and dining areas into one space, maintaining kitchen privacy behind small arched openings. The project turns a corner plot into a cozy 4-bedroom sanctuary.

    A village school for primary and middle school children, the design aims to capture the essence of a traditional village school, maintaining a humane and relatable scale. The majority of the school sits on a single storey, elevated on a high plinth, while the administration proudly stands in a two-storeyed block. Classrooms are arranged, embracing an entrance courtyard. Characterized by sloping roofs, this courtyard isn’t merely for aesthetics but serves as a focal point, a dynamic space for morning assemblies and various school gatherings. The overall aesthetic is one of openness and invitation, creating an environment conducive to learning, camaraderie, and a shared sense of pride.
